Welcome to the the Featured Links section of the New Testament Gateway.
This section of the NT Gateway ran from November 1998 to September 2003 and was
a means of drawing attention to particularly noteworthy new web sites. The
Featured Links below are those for September 2003, the last before this section
was replaced with the NT Gateway
Weblog, which allows me to flag up particularly notable web sites at the
same time as doing much, much more. Please visit the Weblog
for current featured links, or consult the archive

Philip A. Harland:
Associations, Synagogues and Congregations
Fine new web site designed to accompany the book of the same name
published this year by Fortress. In the words of the author, "This site brings the
social world of early Christians and Jews to life using inscriptions, monuments, archeological finds, and literary texts from the Roman empire,
especially Asia Minor (modern Turkey). This sheds new light on early Christian writings from Asia Minor, including Revelation, 1 Peter, and
Ignatius' epistles. Visitors can tour ancient cities, view photos of
Greek and Roman gods and their temples, learn about archeology and
inscriptions, and better understand the informal guilds and associations
that existed alongside Jewish synagogues and Christian congregations". An excellent piece of work.
Paleojudaica.com
By Dr James Davila of St Andrews University, Scotland: this weblog began in March this year and provides regular, interesting notes of new publications, links of interest and articles from the world's media, all relating to the topic of Ancient Judaism and Its Context.
If you haven't done so already, Bookmark this "blog" and visit regularly; there are often several updates a day.
TextKit:
Greek and Latin Learning Tools
Anonymous site describing itself as "a language learning site which
provides Greek and Latin grammars, reading material, classical e-books and other
learning resources". A remarkable resource that is growing very
quickly. Already its coverage is broad. The main link above will
take you to resources for Learning New Testament Greek, including Samuel Green's
Brief
Introduction to New Testament Greek and H. P. V. Nunn's A Short Syntax of
New Testament Greek. Excellent new resource.
An Online
Textual Commentary on the Greek Gospels
By Wieland Willker: Ambitious, thorough project to provide a complete on-line textual commentary on the Gospels. This is more fine work from one of the major web authors interested in the New Testament, and especially text-critical matters.
