Book series

I have added a new page providing links to the major current book series on the New Testament. I am sure that I am forgetting a few, so please let me have any additions in comments to this post. And if anyone can fill in some of the details on the current list, I’d be grateful, e.g. current editors of WUNT and the SNTSMS:

End of the line for the premier free online Greek NT

It is with a heavy heart that I have just deleted Zhubert.com, later known as the “Resurgence Greek Project” from the Greek New Testament page. I had described this as the “premier on-line electronic Greek New Testament” but sadly its author has decided to discontinue the site because “the MorphGNT team has had to pull their text offline at the request of the German Bible Society”. For those looking for free internet resources on the Greek NT, you can see several still available on the Greek New Testament Texts page here but none is anything like as good as the one provided at Zhubert. Further comment at Biblical Studies and Technological Tools by MGVH, Zhubert = ReGreek Goes Offline.

New Blogs page added

I have added a new page to the site about Blogs:

Since there are already three excellent aggregator sites, I am not reinventing the wheel and providing a new list. Instead, I am pointing the reader to those sites, with short descriptions. I have also added a link to this blog and to my NT Blog just in case anyone goes looking for them there.

Rodney Decker’s BDAG page

I have renewed the link to Rod Decker’s excellent page on the BDAG Greek Lexicon over on the Lexica page. If you are not familiar with Rod Decker’s page on this, it is well worth a visit.

Getting the E-Lists page up to date

My attention has turned now to the E-Lists page. In the early days of the web, Email discussion lists were exciting new places to do scholarship. Although the glory days of several of the e-lists has gone, and several others have vanished, there are still some thriving email discussion lists and I would like to make sure that my list here is fully up to date. Please take a look at the page and let me know if I have anything important missing.  A few notes on the lists that appear to have fallen on hard times:

- Acts-L appears to be no more and I have deleted the link. Even the old archives appear to have disappeared.

- Biblical Languages appears to have seized up in 2005, or has it moved elsewhere?

- Corpus Paulinum appears to have seized up. According to the archive, the last message sent was in April 2008, and that was the first since the previous October.

- Elenchus is, I think, long dead. I have deleted the link.

- Ioudaios has been defunct since 2004, as far as I can tell.

I’d be grateful for any comments if anyone has further information.

Judaica and the PACE website

I have refreshed the Judaica page, getting rid of dead links, repairing broken ones, the usual drill. In this process, I came across a new site to me and I have added a link:

First class web site for a project led by Steve Mason. Includes full Greek texts of Josephus with English translations, and textual parallels. Also includes full text reproductions of some key secondary literature.

SBL Unicode Greek Font

The long awaited new SBL Unicode Greek Font is now available and I have added a link to it on the NT Gateway Greek Fonts page. There are comments on the Biblical Studies and Technological Tools Blog (Mark Hoffman) and NT Resources Blog (Rod Decker).
