The New Media Bible
A remarkable new project with a massive amount of information on the Parable of the Good Samaritan. As well as interactive elements, video and audio clips, there are articles on the history of interpretation, on the meaning of parable, on example stories, on the parable's background and more. The site is produced by "The American Bible Society’s Research Center for Scripture and Media"; its authors are all from the U.S.A. and Canada and include B. B. Scott, David L. Barr, Charles Hedrick, Adele Reinhartz, Robert Fowler, Howard Clark Kee and David Trobisch. It is aimed at a variety of age-groups and educational bands, and each article comes in three "levels", from simple to more complex. The only warning is that the design is intensive on graphics, frames and java. It might be frustrating if you don't have a fast connection.
The Corinth Computer Project
Based at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, U.S.A., with web design by Nicholas Stapp, this site has been a valuable resource on the web for some time, but recently it has had a dramatic face-lift. This is a pioneering educational site with extensive, original material providing historical, literary and archaeological information on the city of Corinth. New elements include a 3D fly-through Corinth, a Quicktime film of the Roman forum, interactive stone for stone archaeological plans, digital maps, 3D models, site photographs, satellite images, interactive GIS data and literary texts. This is a website that will be enjoyed by scholars, students and the general public -- strongly recommended.
The Five Gospels Parallels
Edited by John W. Marshall. It's back! Since opening The New Testament Gateway in 1998, this has been one of the most popular links. When recently it seemed to have disappeared, I received many Emails from people asking if I knew where it had gone. If you have not used it before, it is an excellent frames-based HTML presentation of the Four Canonical Gospels plus Thomas in English (Revised Standard Version & Lambdin). You can choose to see different combinations of the five, and indidividual pericopae are linked to their parallels.
The Miracle Maker
Web site for the excellent new animated Jesus film produced in Wales and Russia, now on release in British cinemas and due to air on American television this Easter. This web site gives fairly extensive information about the film including pictures, educational resources, credits and plot summary.
